What is Build and Crush?
Build and Crush is a Minecraft-style action sandbox released in November 2019 by Ctrl4ltDel. The core loop is simple: spend time constructing something in BUILD mode using a library of block types, then switch to CRUSH mode to demolish a random creation from the community. The contrast between careful building and all-out destruction is what makes it click. It carries a rating of 4.4 from over 31,000 votes and has tags for Action, Building, Zombie, and Destroy.
Build mode and block types
In BUILD mode you place blocks on a grid and can fly freely around your structure. Standard blocks include brick, granite, glass, wood, and leaves. Color blocks let you paint sections in different hues. Every block type also comes in three shape variants: column, stair, and triangle, so even a small palette of materials produces a lot of visual variety. Finished builds can be saved and made public with one click so other players can load them into CRUSH mode.
Crush mode weapons
CRUSH mode loads a random community creation and hands you an arsenal to tear it apart. You pick weapons from a panel on the left and apply them one at a time. The atomic bomb clears the whole structure in one shot.

Tips for getting the most out of each mode
- In BUILD mode, use stair and triangle variants at the edges of structures so the silhouette looks less boxy when others view it in CRUSH.
- Save your build and set it public before switching to CRUSH mode so it joins the pool for other players.
- In CRUSH mode, start with the earthquake to shake loose overhanging sections before using TNT. That order wastes fewer shots.
- If you want a fast clear, skip the individual weapons and go straight to the atomic bomb.
- Multiplayer is in development. Keep an eye on updates if competing and defending against zombies sounds like your thing.
